One stamp per purchase, regardless of the amount.
Workflow
Terminal Mode is a dedicated mode of the 7stamp Scanner app that turns an existing Android payment terminal into a loyalty point. Customers collect stamps in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet straight from the terminal screen — no extra hardware to buy, no app for customers to install, and no separate device on the counter.
It runs on the terminal that is already at checkout. Download the 7stamp Scanner app, open Terminal Mode, and start serving loyalty on the same screen that already takes the payment.
Key facts
The customer pays for the order on the terminal as usual.
Right after the transaction, the 7stamp Scanner app opens on the terminal — automatically with light integration, or with one tap by the cashier.
The cashier taps the large "Serve customer" button and a unique, dynamic QR code appears on the terminal screen.
The customer points their phone at the screen. If they have no card yet, it is created in seconds, saved to their wallet, and the first stamps are added. If they already have a card, it updates instantly.
One stamp per purchase, regardless of the amount.
Stamps are calculated from the receipt total. In Terminal Mode the cashier enters the amount on the terminal screen.
Terminal Mode does not only add stamps. It also issues and redeems rewards at the moment of service, with all three 7stamp reward types.
When the customer scans and the system sees the goal is reached (for example, "6th coffee free"), the operation completes on their phone and the terminal screen prompts the cashier to hand over the gift.
A voucher can be used on a later visit. On the next visit the cashier opens the customer's available vouchers on the terminal — or enters the voucher number — and redeems it in one tap.
After the scan, an interactive "wheel of fortune" opens on the customer's phone. They spin it themselves, and the result — an instant gift or a deferred voucher — appears on the terminal screen for the cashier.
Terminal Mode runs on Android payment terminals. Install the 7stamp Scanner app from Google Play, or download the APK directly to deploy it across a whole fleet of terminals from one place.
The iOS Scanner is also available for phones and tablets.
Advanced / on request
For partners ready for deeper integration, 7stamp supports more seamless terminal flows. These are available on request and are part of our integration roadmap.
On a VAS / Smart Tap–certified terminal, the loyalty card is read in the same contactless tap as the payment. The terminal's payment application handles it (Apple's "Payment and VAS" mode) and passes the loyalty card to 7stamp, which credits the stamp — no QR and no second tap. Set up together with your acquirer or terminal vendor.
A deeper, payment-partner integration. The customer simply pays with their card or phone. After one consent-based enrollment via a short-lived QR, 7stamp can recognise the returning customer by PAR (Payment Account Reference) or another non-PCI stable token exposed by the acquirer / processor. Never use or hash PAN.
Terminal Mode is built for the partners who run payment terminals — acquirers, payment processors, ISOs, PSPs, and terminal resellers — who want to offer loyalty as a value-added service on top of payment acceptance. It is also a fast way for any merchant with an Android terminal to add a loyalty program without new hardware.
