8. Stamping
After the customer saves the card, the main phase begins — they return and you give them stamps. 7stamp has several stamping channels and they work in parallel — the same customer can get a stamp from staff in the dining room today, scan a receipt QR tomorrow, and scan a delivery insert the day after.
8.1 Per order vs By amount — two stamping rules
The rule is set in Card Designer → Step 3 → How customers earn stamps:
| Rule | Best for | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Per order | Cafes, bakeries, barbershops, car washes, delivery with a clear average ticket | 1 stamp per order regardless of amount |
| By amount | Restaurants, retail, businesses with highly variable average ticket | 1 stamp per €10 in the ticket |
The By amount rule needs a source of the ticket amount — either a POS integration (the till sends the amount to 7stamp), or Delivery Insert / Receipt QR with Reward type = PURCHASE AMOUNT, or the API.
8.2 Stamping channels — overview
| Channel | What it does | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 7stamp Scanner — Manual mode | Staff scans the Wallet card with a phone/tablet camera | Premium service, sit-down restaurant, spa, barbershop |
| 7stamp Scanner — Self-Service Kiosk | The customer scans the card themselves on a tablet by the till | Coffee shops, bakeries, busy counters, light retail |
| 7stamp Scanner — Autopilot | An external scanner at the till reads the card “as a barcode”, stamp added in the background | Peak hours, queues, car washes, fast food, high-volume counters |
| Delivery Insert / Receipt QR | The customer scans the QR from the receipt / insert after payment | Delivery, takeaway, post-purchase enrollment |
| POS integration | The till sends the payment fact directly to 7stamp | Businesses with Poster, Serve, etc. |
| API | Programmatic stamping from your CRM or another service | Deep automation, multi-channel scenario |
Details about the 7stamp Scanner modes are in the next section.
